Remember life prior to the world wide web and cell phones?
Savo asked:
Dont get me wrong i love technoloy and all it brings us but i think our personal interactions as a society have suffered. Most people alienate themselves from others by talking on there cell phones all the time, in parks, malls, gyms etc.. Kids used to go out and play ball or ride bikes all day long etc.. now they are all gaining weight in front of some piece of technology. Interested in all opinions good and bad.

to be honest not really. in another 10 years we will look back and wonder how we survived with only internet and cell phones
life b4 the internet n cell phone was so much more peaceful n yet i cannot imagine how i lived then. im online all the time to receive emails fresh as they r sent.
i do yearn for life w/o cell phone n the Net. when i was not contactable. kids nowadays r growing fat n lazy cos they sit in front on the comp playing games. easting by their desktops, not exercising…my 4 yr old nephew is addicted to online games and knows all the rules n buttons to press n he’s only 4!!!!!!
technology is a double edged sword.
Totally agree. Technology is taking place of life experiences and it’s essentially what’s robbing the youth of thier innocence.
i think its spoiling ppl lives and even helping it to some extent. ppl have stopped using their heads and they depend more on the internet now which is not good. and instead of using phones once in a while we seem to be using it all the time and putting a hault to our social interactions ,but i have to admit that all this is addictive, and if we limit it to an extent they it wod serve the right purposes.
Yeah, I want it back
It seems like only yesterday I had the hottest pager out there lol.
The 2 things that bother me the most are people who drive and talk and seeing a mother blabing away despite their kid right there beside them calling their name.
I was born in 1957…
There is potential in technology. While I agree there are drawbacks, as there are in everything in the world…these can be used to teach civility. Children were once taught by their parents how to behave properly, to be polite (sincerely polite). We do not have to be slaves to technology. We can think before using the phone in a theater, or a restaurant; we can choose to shut the phone off when we know we are going into a public place.
We can have technology, and still be a community.
Yes Life was considered normal since there was no cell phones or world wide web.
I disagree with most people, technology is what makes this world so good. It’s helping people all the time.
Technology is good, but it’s also bad. First of all, some people seem to have trouble writing the English language nowadays! (My biggest gripe about this site!) Also we have lost so many social interactions. We have online “friends” that we’ve never met in person. There’s cybersex–who needs a real live person? I get interrupted when I’m out socializing by a cell phone. If I ignore the call because I’m out on a date (with a real person) the person who called may be pissy because I didn’t ansewer the phone. And speaking of phones, people will sometimes ignore the person they’re out with to talk on the phone. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here!
