Mall gypsies/Irish Travelers?
Vita asked:
I’ve googled both terms, and on the web the two seem nearly interchangeable. I recently heard from a friend that the “gypsies,” as they’re known, form a sort of foreign, nomadic group and frequent malls, scamming retailers out of thousands of dollars. Can this be possible? I’ve never in my life heard of such “gypsies” until now, but they’ve apparently got some sort of hold on our North American industries. More than anything, I’m just curious
Can anyone clarify??

Thanks so much!
I have heard of gypsies, no doubt, good sir. And in fact, have met several. But mall gypsies, I’ve been told, are of a different variety altogether.

You have led a sheltered life.Gypsies have been around for centuries.Travelers as they have bean com to be known claim oridgins to before the birth of Christ.A common claim is that God gave them the right to steal after a gypsy stole the last spike ment to pearse the heart of Christ as he was being crusified.
The Gypsies have been shunned and persicuted through out history as they are nomads and do not gennerally settel in one place. They have their own language and culture but live by their own laws. They are generally skilled craftsmen and have a great gift for music. In my life I’ve been blessed to know some modern day travelers and foundthem to be hard working honest people who are deeply misunderstood.
